LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCH!!! Okay. Again with the food. DON'T JUDGE ME, IT'S IMPORTANT. EATING IS GOOD FOR YOU. I ran over to the Ravenclaw table, kissed my sister on the top of her head (much to her annoyance) and started loading my plate with roast beef and strawberries. "Hey, Elizabeth." "Hey, Elizabeth!" "Hey, Gen! Hey, Ellie!" I smiled at them. Ellie happily started stuffing rolls in her mouth. "Defah Aheh eh Dah Ah wefuh!" "Ellie, swallow before you speak," said Genevieve. Instantly, she gulped down hard, gasped, and flopped onto the table with a pained expression. "Ellie, chew before you swallow." "Okay...." she moaned. /ooc/ have to go for a bit, i'll finish it later

I say this as I chew on a fudge brownie: a great plate of impossibly good food is probably better than orgasm inducing sex.

ooc In fact, maybe I'll write a food post too. Please skip if you are very hungry. And don't judge me for the detail I spend on describing food, since it is almost like writing a LOVE SCENE for me ooc
I always loved lunch here. Actually, I always loved any meal here, but lunch was likely to have any number of delicious delicacies. And as usual, I was having difficulty choosing what I wanted.
"Hmmmm...."
"Willa, are you this indecisive at home?" said Jinjin teasingly.
"Jinjin, I would NOT talk if I were you. ahem. AHEM." I looked at her plate which was, as yet, empty.
"I'll have the roast beef," said Losi sweetly. She was a direct rebuttal to the people who say that those who eat red meat are violent. Which was silly anyway.
I still couldn't choose. I saw Will a little bit ahead of us, loading his plate with chicken, mashed potatoes, fries, corn, and...Chinese dumplings? That boy had no consideration as to what tastes went together. Nor did he realize what that many starches could do to his well maintained physique. Or maybe he simply didn't care. I sympathized with him on that count.
I finally decided on a salad. OH WHY DO THERE HAVE TO BE SO MANY TOPPINGS OH THE GLORIOUS TORTURE.
After my choice-induced panic attack, I topped it with grilled salmon, bleu cheese, peppered goat cheese, herbs, olive oil, tomatoes, red wine viniagrette (oh i feel sinful now), and a dash of pepper on top.
"Willow, how can you eat all that? We don't have unlimited amounts of time here, you know."
"Bah humbug." Then I noticed that Laura had gotten two tacos. Tacos were my favorite. They usually didn't have them. But I had gotten the salad, and I wasn't going to be a wuss. I had to stick with my decision.
You can guess how this ended. NO, I did not spill everything I worked so hard to make perfect. I ended up marrying my salad, and we lived together happily all of our days, me caressing it and enjoying every moment of our wonderful life together until it was all gone into my stomach. And I hope all my friends had the same experience with their own dishes.

(let's all pretend I wasn't MIA for- oh, this entire thing, shall we? Yes.)
The day before heading to Hogwarts, we all met up at my house. I can't honestly say I didn't think some (quite high) measure of insanity would be involved, but as always it managed to go beyond my expectations. There was lots of food, some of it edible and some I didn't really even call food anymore, much cake-splattering, a surprisingly low number of maimed/otherwise destroyed possessions, and Lo's (admittedly lovely, when you got down to it) impromptu birthday party. We stayed up much too late to be conscious of much the next morning, which was probably a good thing seeing as said morning mostly consisted of panic, frantic packing, and more panic. Eventually, though, everyone got everything together, most socks were matching, and we and our luggage got loaded into my mom's car for her to drive us to the station.
We all dispersed for a while after getting onto platform 9 3/4 to say goodbye to our families. I hugged my parents and exchanged I love you's and promises to do well and have fun and not blow anything up, and then it was time to board the train. Our group managed to converge on the same door, turning to wave one last time, and climb inside with a minute to spare before the doors closed and the Express pulled away. Chattering (and complaining about trunks and cages and "get off, don't step on my foot, it's not my fault it's right there"), we made our way down the corridor and found ourselves compartments, breaking off into smaller groups. The trip passed without much of note besides Saki and Zu's obligatory buying out of the food trolley and, inexplicably, a dementor. I'd only read about dementors before and definitely did not enjoy the real life version, but thankfully I had post-sugar consumption Saki and Zu to bring the mood back up after the horrid thing left.
The sorting went quickly, too. We went our separate ways again in the Great Hall after having a moment to wave to each other while walking in - everyone to their tables; Zu, Sebastian, and I to Slytherin's. We sat as far away as possible from the awful twins, and Sebastian held up his end of a slightly sporadic conversation with one of the other boys as we watched the nervous first years put on the hat in turn. Finally it was done and we sang the school song and helped ourselves to the feast before dragging our sleepy selves to the dungeon and falling into bed.
(will recap first day of classes tomorrow, sorry, falling asleep ^^; )

ooc/ continuing!!!
"Anyways, what were you trying to say around those rolls, Ellie?" I smiled. She was just as hyper-active as her brother most of the time.
Ellie seemed to have recovered. "Defense Against the Dark Arts was fun!"
"Oh, cool."
She nodded, and there was this mischievous light in her eyes.
"FIRE!"
I laughed, remembering. "Right, I remember! How do you like Professor Achilles?"
"He's awesome!" my sister and Ellie exclaimed in unison. "Yay for text-book burning!" Gen chimed. I smiled. Ah, memories.... I think that moment might have scarred Vi for life....
"Eliiiizabeth?" my sister said after a while. She'd almost finished her roast salmon.
"Geeeenevieve?"
"Why do Slytherins hate mudbloods?"
I bit my lip. "We're called 'muggle-borns', sweet sister."
"Yeah, but that's what they call us. Why? Why is it just Slytherins?"
I thought hard. I think I'd read something about it in Hogwarts: A History for History of Magic or something, but I hadn't really been paying much attention....
"Jin Ah, help me out here," I told her, and she turned toward us.
"What is it?"
"Gen wanted to know why Slytherins hate muggle-borns."
"Oh." Jin Ah frowned. "I believe it all started out with Salazar Slytherin himself. He didn't believe, as the other three founders of Hogwarts did, that muggle-borns were as deserving of magic as pure-bloods."
"But that's ridiculous!" Gen said indignantly.
"Yeah, but some people are like that.... Anyways, because of that, people who don't like muggle-borns are almost always put in Slytherin house. I believe the four founders had a big row or something.... There's even this myth about the school having a 'Chamber of Secrets', a secret room or dungeon in the castle built and hidden by Salazar Slytherin himself! There's all these ghost stories and things."
I nodded, I'd heard of those. Genevieve looked delighted.
"Really??? That's so cool!" Ellie seemed to agree.
"Let's go try and find it after school today!"
"Well, the Chamber of Secrets always seemed pretty creepy and sinister to me," Jin Ah said tentatively, not really sure if their idea was the best one.
"Oh come on, Jin Ah, a secret, mythical room in the castle? We've gotta find it!"
"We're not even sure it's actually there!" she argued. "It's a myth!"
"Then we'll go on a wild goose chase, just for kicks!" she said, and the two girls giggled.
Jin Ah sighed and smiled. "Well, there are plenty of other secret rooms hidden in the castle, anyways." She took a bite of pie. I looked around. There was no pie there.
"Jin Ah, how did you get pie?" I asked, befuddled and kind of wanting some.
She told me. Then she let me have a slice. Yay!

/ooc YAY FOOD
Transfiguration was fun, as always - I loved transfiguring things. But food was even better.
"Foodfoodfoodfood," Willow seemed to be murmuring when I came and fluffed her hair during lunch.
"We should start sitting around at random tables during meals again," I said. "It's a shame we're always split up."
"I KNOOOOOW," Sonia said. She was sitting on Laura's lap.
"Off, Sonia," Laura said. "Time to get some lunch."
Willow was staring at the food. I teased her about being indecisive, and she griped a bit about how fantastic all the food was. She finally decided on a salad, while I got a sandwich. It was a wonderful sandwich. It had that slightly nutty tasting whole grain bread, with pickles, cheddar cheese, turkey, lettuce, tomatoes, more pickles, mayonnaise, and mustard. I had some tomato soup with it. It was heavenly. It was insane, the foods that Hogwarts had, but I would be the last person to complain. You could get practically anything.
Charlotte's plate was piled high with roast beef and strawberries. I hadn't managed to drag Willow away from her table (she was making moaning noises while eating her salad), and Laura and Sonia seemed to be blind to anything other than tacos at the moment, so Charlotte and I went over to the Ravenclaw table, where Vi was reading, Rachel was eating, and Will was devouring. Ellie and Genevieve were there, too, and Charlotte asked Genevieve how her day had been. Ellie started to respond rather enthusiastically, but was reminded by Genevieve to chew and swallow before talking.
"What did you guys actually go over?" I asked.
"Oh, we talked about the history of the Dark Arts, and then someone made a joke about Slytherin, and Professor Achilles stopped the lesson to explain about how no, not everyone in Slytherin was a bad guy, and then Ellie said that one of her brother's best friends was a Slytherin, and Professor Achilles asked who her brother was, and she told him, and then he sort of frowned and moved her to the desk right in front of him."
"Breathe, Genevieve," I said, laughing. "That makes sense, considering Will."
Will's head shot up. "Are you talking about me?"
"Yes," I said, then turned back to Ellie and Genevieve. "Did you like Professor Achilles?"
"Yes!" said Ellie. "My mother said that he wasn't very nice when she was at school with him."
"Really?"
"Oh, yes, apparently half the girls in her year had a crush on him and three-quarters of the ones in the lower years did, too, but he didn't like any of them, and it really annoyed them. I think they were offended that he ignored them."
"I see," Charlotte said. We talked some more about classes, but also made sure to enjoy the delicious food.
/ooc. short post, but must go to sleep.

((I guess since Vi changed my elective to Care of Magical Creatures, that makes me have Arithmancy as elective 1, right?))
After breakfast, day one was a pain. In transfiguration, professor Selachii gave us an overview of how the class would run this year; cross-species transfiguration. The class was slow and painful; my head hurt from concentrating on making my quill take notes. Later, Saki and I went to Arithmancy together. We, of course, reviewed the information we were supposed to memorize over the summer. During break, I went back to my room to unpack more of my things; which turned out to be a pain, with my cat laying out over everything. Astronomy didn't hold anything of interest; I took notes on a few of the constellations and doodled in my notebook. On the way to lunch I walked with Katie, Sonia, Willow and Laura before splitting off to the Slytherin table to eat. Mortimer Fremantle's plate jumped up in the air and smacked him in the face when he sat down and made Sako, Sebastian and I giggle to watch him.
We, of course, had a pretty good idea who put the charm there. Aeris was sitting next to his brother further down the table from us, his eternal smile plastered on his face. In History of Magic, I sat with Sonia and Sebastian; the three of us were the only ones who managed to stay awake the entire class. Even Sako had drifted off around 300 BCE. Monday night everyone got together (Jin Ah, Will, Charlotte, Saki, Sako, Katie, Sebastian, Edmund, Vi, Rachel, Genvieve, Ellie and I) and discussed out classes. Dinner, and then bed.
Tuesday was mostly uneventful until the Slytherins and Ravenclaws arrived in DADA class. Professor Achilles--oh how I adore his name--put us into assigned seating, the worst being Will assigned with Madeline Fremantle. I didn't have it very bad, really, I only had to sit my Milo Walden. He never spoke, I never spoke, and all in all I had a good time in class. Another night was spent with homework stuffs.
Wednesday I foresaw everyone asleep in first period, and I was right. History of Magic first thing in the morning just meant nap time - and I doubt the teacher noticed any of us. In charms, Aeris managed to hex Mortimer Fremantle again - his locomotor attempt hit him, once more, in the face. Okay, I don't like Aeris or anything like that, but I gave him a high-five under the table (low-five) just for that. In transfiguration we turned hamsters into rabbits - except for Sebastian. He was looking awfully puzzled, having managed to transfigure his hamster into a squirrel with large, floppy ears. Before Professor Rigby could deduct any points from Slytherin, however, the squirrel hopped up into the hair and finished turning into a rabbit. So, she moved on to check Hufflepuff's spells. In the evening, we had astronomy - a highlight for the week since we got to leave our rooms at night. Which, I think Will might have tried with that cloak...

"Finally!" I scream in my head. Cursed week is a go! All of the days waiting until finally it begins. It will be great feeling the pain, the suffering and well the bonding. After all this ends we know that the ones left over are not quitters. ANd that is a key quality. "Come on Katie! We need to go get our stuff and get there on time! Guilder says we can help out!" Kenna says excitedly. Even though right now she is on the sub team, with all the quitters hopefully she will be bumped up. We rush toward the dorms, taking a few risks by jumping on moving stairs. When we finally get there we change hastily as Laura and Willow stroll in casually.
"What are you doing?" they ask staring at us as we change, grab our brooms and get our wands. "Cursed week has begun!" We say smiling wikedly, they roll their eyes and we rush down to the feilds.
Once at the feilds we see that no one is there except Guilder, we smile happy that we get some alone time with this hunk. "Hey guys!" Guilder says smiling too, . "Ready for Cursed Week?" "Yup!" We say in unison. "Good, first off we will do a warm up lap, stretch and then a few broom drills before we start up. Sounds good?" "Perfect!" Kenna says and we wait for everyone to show up. *** After ten minutes of long waiting people finally show up.Some come in pairs Maria with Cameron, who I think are dating because of their flirty behavior, Victor and Richard and the rest just show up. After a while people come and amazingly Daniella is on time too. "Okay guys, ready for cursed week?" Guilder says smiling super brightly like he won the world cup. "Yeah!" they say while some grumble. "Okay then one warmup lap, stretch then get on your brooms we are going to do some warm ups, keeper go to." Then we are off, ready for Cursed Week to begin.
(ANYONE WANT TO write stuff in this? It feels so onesided...)

/ooc guys don't let it dieeee.
WOO! Break time!
I ran over to JinAh and bounced. "JinAhJinAhJinAhJinAh let's go outside! It's stuffy in here! I don't like being inside, it's boring. Can we go outside? Let's go outside!"
Rachel looked up from a very fat book. "Smonia," she said. "HUSH."
Lunch made me either very very tired or really excited. Today, it seemed to be excited. This was probably because we hadn't been overloaded with homework yet. I could feel the dark, gloomy cloud of homework looming in the near future and so I was ready to spend what little time we had left, outside.
JinAh seemed to be concentrating on her schedule. She looked up at me and blinked. "Why? It's nice in here. And there are floating candles."
"Oh, wait," said Vi. "We could go and watch Katie and Kenna and freinds do their Cursed Week stuff. Flying around on broomsticks. Sound interesting to you guys?"
"YES WONDERFUL IDEA NOW LET'S GOOO," I groaned and pulled at JinAh's arm.
Everyone slowly removed their lazy butts from the seats and we made our way to the field. Kris, Saki, and Sako had gone somewhere, so it was just me, Willow, Charlotte, Laura, JinAh, Rachel, and Vi. Males were absent at the time. For the moment, at least.
Walking down the stony grey halls of Hogwarts really made me appreciate the outdoors even more. There were plenty of window-type arched openings throughout the school from which you could see the lush green grass and whatever tomfoolery was taking place out there. I liked having a school that was so close to the outside, unlike traditional Muggle schools (which I had learned about in Muggle StudiesC:)
We were passing the Transfiguration room when a familiar face showed up in the doorway - Sophie! I called out to her.
"Sister!" She came over to us. Our little posse paused for a minute to talk amongst themselves while I chatted with my sister.
"What are you doing in the Transfiguration class during lunch?" I asked.
"Whatever," she mumbled. "But anyway so I saw this dude with these crazy ears. I think they were real. He had brown hair."
"Cool story, bro," I said. "Now I gotta go get me some Quidditch. You go off and do whatever third-years do during break."
"THAT GUY WAS COOL!... WHATEVER, I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU EITHER! JUST SAVE ME A CUPCAKE IF YOU FIND ONE SOMEWHERE!" she called to me as we continued on. Sophie was such a strange cookie. I heard some teacher come out of a classroom and scold her for yelling. I waved at her and the teacher. Strange cookie.
We made it outside and along the way picked up Bridgette, who was just wandering around. She and Charlotte immidiately started in on a discussion about the anatomy of centaurs. (/ooc lol I don't know.)
It was a somewhat warm day with clouds masking the sun - expected in Britain during the late summer. The quidditch people were running around on the field, warming up I guess. We went up the bleachers on the Gryffindor side, after Willow and Laura's pleading. ("Let's just help represent the minority here!")
From up on the Gryffindor bleachers, we watched Katie and Kenna and the other dudes mount their brooms and fly around. I had always wanted to play Quidditch.. just not enough to actually do it. JinAh, Rachel, and Vi seemed to care less about the people on broomsticks and were more into a discussion about power trios and the like.
In the middle of my careful observations about the people around me, Laura jumped up. "Holy man! Look at that guy's broom!" She leaned forward and tapped her nails on the ledge in front of us while staring nervously at the field..
Sure enough, some guy's broom was going whacko. It was jerking all over the place and giving the poor kid mini-whiplashes.
"That doesn't look healthy at all," Willow said.
This seemed to catch everyone else's attention. We all stood at the edge of the .... ledge (/ooc lol rhymes) and stared at the field. The other players were running around. They didn't have their wands with them. "It looks as if he's..." Charlotte started.
"Looks like he's being hexed," murmured JinAh. She drew her wand.

IL POSTINO~ (I have no idea what that actually means, but it sounds sort of like post so. Yeah. Continues right after Sonia's.)
I was just going to finite the broom, but Willow grabbed my hand. "JinJin, what are you going to do?" she asked. "If you don't aim right, it could hit someone else and just cause problems with them, too."
"I'm just going to do finite incantatem on it," I said.
"That could remove the charms on the broomstick itself, though," Charlotte said. I supposed that she was right, so instead I decided to try out something I had seen while flipping through my charms textbook. I waved my wand, and giant mushrooms started floating in the air, right beneath him. Just as the boy finally fell off of his broomstick, he flopped onto a mushroom right beneath him and bounced off onto another mushroom, and so on, until he was flopped softly onto the ground.
Kenna came flying up to me, waving her hands frantically. "You can't do that!" she said.
"But he was in danger!" Willow protested.
"No, he wasn't." Kenna shook her head quickly and spoke just as fast: "It's for Cursed Week, we have to know that they can withstand stress and even mild amounts of pain - but Guilder's put spells in place that make sure that make sure that they don't suffer any actual physical damage."
"Are you sure they work?" Vi asked skeptically.
"Positive," a voice said above us. We looked up to see Guilder Rosencrantz flying a little above us, looking amused. "I tried 'em out myself. I think Horatio was a little relieved when he found out what the whips were for, in any case. I think he thought I was going to use them on the Quidditch team."
"Ummmmm," Kenna said.
"What?"
"Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm."
"What? Wait - no - Kenna - you didn't -"
"No! Of course not!" Kenna smiled brightly and waved frantically at Katie. "CALL OFF OPERATION CRACK OF DAWN!" she shouted.
"Operation Crack of Dawn?" Guilder shook his head. "I don't want to know ... now, if you ladies will excuse me, I need to go supervise my team."
As if to support his point, a Chaser flew by, screaming. With laughter. Because there was a giant feather duster enchanted to follow her around and tickle the back of her neck.
We sat around watching them for a little while longer, and I took a few notes on their strongest players, strategies, how they worked together, etc. Of course, the team hadn't been fully formed, but I was sure that the information would be ... useful ... later.
Hey, just because we're Ravenclaws doesn't mean we can't be good at Quidditch.
At around 2:05, Vi's watch went off. "Time to go," she said, and we all sighed. Right on cue, Guilder blew his whistle, and the quidditch players all flew back down to the ground. A few of them rocketed upward at first, not realizing that their brooms had been enchanted to go in the direction opposite to the one they were steered towards.
Once we got to the castle, Charlotte, Sonia, Bridgette, Vi, Rachel, and I went one way, to the History of Magic classroom, and Laura, Willow, Kenna, and Katie (who had joined us after leaving the Quidditch people) went down to the dungeons for Potions. History of Magic. Blehhhh. Oh well, at least I could work on my DADA homework.
While we were walking, we started hearing a banging and a muffled yelling noise. It was coming from a broom cupboard.
"Maybe it's a boggart," Vi suggested nervously.
"Well, we know what to do with those." I kept my wand carefully leveled at the cupboard, and nudged it open with my foot.
Inside were a rather entangled Sebastian, Will, and Edmund.
"What are you three doing?" Sonia asked. I could see the light of shipping in her eyes.
"We're stuck," said a muffled voice. It sounded like Edmund, whose face seemed to be smashed up against the top of the cupboard.
"I can see that," I said. They looked very uncomfortable.
"Are you going to let us out?"
"I dunno," Rachel said. "I mean, it's not like you're missing anything much if you miss Binns' class ..."
"Aww, guys, we've got to let them out!" Charlotte said. She and Bridgette pulled at an elbow, and pretty soon the three boys came tumbling out.
"What did you go in there for?" asked Bridgette, who seemed to be trying not to laugh.
"We wanted to jump out and scare someone," Will said primly. "It would have been a marvelous prank."
"Only we got stuck," Edmund said rather unnecessarily.
"Hi, guys!" came a voice, and Saki rounded the corner. "Why aren't you in History of Magic already? Bell's going to ring in a second."
She was right, and so we hurried off to the classroom.
